Getting there: Air Canada

Where dpr stayed: The Fairmont Waterfront – lovely room overlooking Coal Harbour from the 22nd floor. Good wifi, very friendly check in staff that gave dpr a late checkout too, close to everything downtown, great gym. No real downsides to this place.

Fun: dpr was here for only 2 nights – and only had one quickie afternoon to head out for a walk. It was a good one – a stop at Moonpennies coffee, yep, not Starbucks, but Moonpennies, a stop at a fave aromatherapy shop (Escents), and a purse purchase on sale at the Bay. That was about it.

Tips: 1. Don’t be afraid to ask for an early or late hotel checkout – the worst that can happen is you get a no and have to store your luggage. The best that can happen is a yes, and you get to make yourself comfy faster and for longer. 2. The Fairmont had free coffee and tea in the lobby before 7 am. If coffee or tea’s your deal – yum.
